Director Vasu screened three songs from the film Punda upon completion of the film’s work. “I could not make any changes to the original (Polladhavan) but have altered it slightly to suit local tastes,” he says.

Hero Yogish, looking slightly better with his new hairdo and stubble on the face, revealed how he lost four to five kilos shooting for 49 nights of the 69 days schedule. Punda is Yogish's second remake. Drawing parallel to his life, Yogish recalled how he enjoyed working with Sharath Lohitashwa. Sharath plays a contract killer with a soft heart and who is fond of his younger brother, essayed by Petrol Prasanna. Incidentally, Punda is the third film of Yogish-Prasanna combination. Then again, this is Sharath's second film with Vasu, after Murari.

Cinematographer Shekhar Chandra has had a blast, capturing the streets of Bangalore at night. Equally happy was actress Nandini, last seen in 3Guttu, Ondu Sullu, Ondu Nija alongside Ramesh and Komal. The reason for her happiness was that she has sung a song in the film! Director Vasu has roped in Sadhu Kokila's nephew Manu to compose tunes. While there was excitement all round, heroine Meghana was conspicuous by her absence, though her parents Pramila Joshai and Sundarraj tried to make up for her.
