Sri Lanka’s Vijitha Bandara seized the halfway lead in the PGTI’s Final Qualifying Stage-2015 tournament here on Wednesday.

Unlike the opening round where 35 players broke par, conditions in the second round at the Eagleton Golf Resort proved far more challenging and Bandara dished out a compact card of one-under 71 for a one-shot lead.

One of the biggest gainers of the day was All-India Amateur Champion Trishul Chinnappa. The KGA youngster, who started his campaign with a disappointing 75, hauled himself back with a superb three-under 69 that lifted him to tied 12th and enhanced his chances of making the pro tour.

Udayan Mane also rose up to tied 19th with a 71 while Syed Saqib Ahmed dropped to tied 29th after a 76.

Leading scores (after 36 holes): 139: Vijitha Bandara (68, 71); 140: Ajay Baisoya (70, 70), Arjun Singh (71, 69); 141: Ravinder Tavel (69, 72), Anirudh Goyal (69, 72).
