“The school fee record of the Sacred Heart Convent School shows that about 135 students have similarly defaulted in timely payment of school fee against whom no action has ever been taken by the school authorities till date. This is, therefore, a case which clearly demonstrates beyond any manner of doubt that the school authorities acted in a mala fide, biased, arbitrary, indiscriminate and unwarranted manner while expelling late Ruchika Girhotra from the school,” a probe conducted by sub-divisional magistrate Prerna Puri stated.

Ruchika was expelled from Sacred Heart School barely a month after she had lodged a complaint against former DGP S P S Rathore for molestation. Ruchika’s family had alleged that she was expelled by the school on pressure from Rathore. The school had, on the other hand, taken the plea that she had been expelled for non-payment of fees.

The 45-page report submitted to home secretary Ram
Niwas also states that even Rathore’s daughter Priyanjali, who studied in the same class as Ruchika, was a defaulter but not expelled.

“We have withdrawn the state award for outstanding contribution to education to school principal Sister Sebastina and are also sending the report to the CBSE. A copy was also being sent to the school management for action against the principal and to the Panchkula superintendent of police”.
