97 schools in Bangalore derecognised

Citing violation of language policy and the medium of instruction, the State Department of Public Instruction has withdrawn the permission and recognition of the following 90 schools in the City. The schools are now considered ‘unauthorised’ by the department, an official release said.

KUSMA shocked
Meanwhile, the Karnataka (Recognised) Unaided Schools Managements’ Association (KUSMA) expressed shock at the derecognition of 78 primary schools through an earlier government order. Citing a High Court order that the right to chose the medium of instruction was a fundamental right of the schools and the Government had no say in the matter, KUSMA said the derecognition amounted to a violation of the High Court order, contempt of court and defamation.
