JOIN USThe Republic Day parade in the national capital will be a special moment for this father-daughter duo who will participate together in the parade on January 26.
Capt Neelam Bhandari and his father Subedar Meharbaan Singh Bhandari (retd) will be part of their respective formations on Republic Day parade.
While the proud father will be representing Ex-Servicemen’s contingent, his daughter Capt Neelam will represent Army Women’s contingent.
Subedar Bhandari said, “I had a long-cherished ambition to join some Army parade with my daughter. The dream kept eluding me throughout my career. But now the most-awaited moment has come when I shall be joining my daughter Capt Neelam Bhandari of 54 Engineering Regiment in the most coveted parade.”
Subedar Bhandari attained superannuation from 5 Garhwal Rifles after thirty years of glorious combat service while Neelam joined the Army in the Engineering Division in 2010, a defence spokesperson said here on Thursday.
