<p>Udupi: Udupi-Chikmagalur MP Shobha Karandlaje has said that a high-level inquiry should be conducted into the recent communal flare up in Gangolli. The government should not take the issue lightly assuming that it was a communal violence rather the incident is posing a terror threat.<br /><br /><br /></p>.<p>Speaking to media persons here on Friday, the Parliamentarian said the State government was not serious about the incident. “It is not merely a communal violence rather the fallout of the arrest of terror suspects in Bhatkal. <br /><br />She said that riots and arson incident reported in the past two days were not the work of local people. <br /><br />“It is the work of culprits from Bhatkal, who want to divert the attention away from Bhatkal,” she said. <br /><br />The State government should take measures to estalish peace and order in the region, she added.<br /><br />Holding the State government responsible for the confusion over Kasturirangan committee report, Karandlaje said the State government should go for scientific survey aiding the natural and cultural landscapes description. <br /><br />The Supreme Court has given its nod to submit the report of the State government till April 15. She said the government should now go in-depth into the issue.<br />The two Cabinet sub-committees set up by the government are of no use as both the committees are just concentrating on overt problems. The committees may not be able to go in-depth into the matter or take up the issue at village level. <br /><br />She also accused the State government of misleading the public. The report will severely affect 1,576 villages in 40 taluks in 10 districts, she said.<br /><br /><br />The Central government will release funds for Kendriya Vidyalaya in Alevoor. However, a temporary Vidyalaya will be set up at Malpe, as the construction work for Kendriya Vidyalaya will take another three to four years, she added.<br />Karandlaje said that the area covering seven junctions in Agumbe ghat area come under Udupi district, while the other seven curve junctions come under Shivamogga district. <br /><br />The State government has handed over the region coming under Udupi district to the national highway. <br /><br />The government should also hand over the other part of the Agumbe curve to the national highway, in order to facilitate development works, she added.<br /></p>
