<p>BJP member G Madhusudan on Wednesday sought permission from Council chairman D H Shankaramurthy to move a privilege motion against Wakf Minister Qamarul Islam for “misleading the house” .<br /><br /></p>.<p>In a letter to Shankaramurthy, copies of which were released to the press, Madhusudhan accused Islam of trying to hide the fact that a Lokayukta case was pending against him pertaining to sale of Wakf land at Badepur village in Kalaburagi. <br /><br />Following a complaint that Islam had sold the land illegally, a jurisdictional court had ordered an investigation by the Lokayukta police, Madhusudan pointed out. However, Islam had concealed the fact in his written answer to a unstarred question on February 10, Madhusudhan said. <br /><br />Last year, the privileges committee of the Council had upheld a charge against Islam for “misguiding” the House by providing false information pertaining to sale of wakf land and had recommended suitable action against him.</p>
