No one was injured as the rockets failed to explode after landing in the Attari sector of the Indo-Pak border, Border Security Force (BSF) sources said. It was the third such incident of rocket fire from the Pakistan side in the past six months.

The BSF retaliated by machine gun and mortar fire. BSF Inspector General Himmat Singh said they had lodged a strong protest with the Pakistan Rangers about the incident. He apprehended that terrorists could be behind the attack, though he did not rule out the possibility of Pak Rangers’ involvement in the firing.

The BSF on Saturday warned of a “strong response” if rockets of the kind fired from the Pakistani side of the border in the early hours of Saturday again land in Indian territory.
There were no casualties on the Indian side even though the rockets missed the Kahngarh border out post by barely a couple of metres, officials said on Saturday. There were at least 35 BSF personnel of the BSF’s 65th battalion at the BOP with weapons and ammunition when the attack took place.
