Adoption: Preparations in full swing at Palace

Ahead of the adoption ceremony of Yaduveer Goplaraj Urs as the successor of Wadiyar dynasty, preparations are in full swing at the Amba Vilas Palace.

Invitation for the adoption ceremony, scheduled to be held on February 23, has already been dispatched to dignitaries and family members of Wadiyars. The adoption programme of Yaduveer, who is the son of Tripurasundari Devi and Swaroop Anand Gopal Raj Urs, will be held at the Kalyana Mantapa of the Palace, in the muhurrat between 1.20 and 1.52 pm. Invitees have been requested to be at the Palace by 12.45 pm for the programme.
After the adoption process, Yaduveer will be renamed, Yaduveer Krishnadatta Chamaraja Wadiyar.

Procession
Following the adoption programme, a procession will be taken out at 6.30 pm, to facilitate the public to witness the same. The procession will start from Anebagilu of Mysuru Palace and proceed northwards to enter Balarama gate and go around Chamaraja statue circle - reach Kote Anjaneya temple and enter the Palace through Jayarama gate to proceed towards Varaha temple and reach Anebagilu via Chamundi Thotti.

The Palace will remain closed for tourists from 1.30 pm on February 22, while it will be closed during the day on February 23. However, tourists can visit the Palace from 7pm onwards, when it will be illuminated.
