The JSS Hospital in Mysuru, which has been treating Seetharam, is seeking donors’ help for further treatment, which may cost another Rs three lakh.

The construction firm for which Seetharam used to work has deposited only a nominal sum towards treatment.

Hospital Director Dr R K Chaturvedi told reporters on Wednesday, “The hospital has already borne Rs three lakh from its poor patients fund for Seetharam’s treatment. An equal amount is neeed for further stages of his treatment”.

Medical Superintendent Dr Guruswamy said Seetharam’s employer has paid only 10 per cent of the total cost incurred till date.

Seetharam was anaemic at the time of admission and he was transfused five units of blood. On February 9, he underwent a wound removal surgery, followed by the feeding jejunostomy on February 13. Another phase of surgery is due to be held in a day or two, depending on his condition.

Explaining about Seetharam’s condition, Plastic Surgeon Dr Vijay L said that Seetharam was given first aid at Adhichunchanagiri Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS) at Mandya, soon after the incident on February 3.

“At AIMS, he was treated for alternate route to enable his breathing. On February 4, he was shifted to JSS Hospital for advanced treatment,” he said.

Donations can be sent either in the form of demand draft or cheque in favour of JSS Hospital, Mysuru or deposited to the bank account number 54007360103, IFS code SBMY0040249.
