CCB sleuths foil murder bid, arrest five goons

Vinod Kumar of Mahalakshmipuram, Hanumantharaj alias Hande Raj (34) of Doddabettalli, Sateesh (29) of Magadi Road, Arun Kumar (28) of Mahalakshmi Layout and K Das alias Penny (28) of Vidyaranyapura had planned to kill Linga alias Katriguppe Linga who was returning with money after accomplishing a land deed near Binny Stone Garden.

Surprise attack

Acting on a tip-off, the CCB sleuths foiled their plan and made a surprise attack on them at 6:45 pm. Two machetes, two small swords, four cell phones and a car were recovered from them.

All the accused were part of Cycle Ravi's gang. Vinod Kumar faces as many as six charges including murder, attempted murder and assault, at various police station limits.

Three judicial warrants were also issued against him. Hanumantharaj is said to be involved in four cases including robbery, attempted murder and kidnapping.
Similarly, Sateesh is wanted in five cases including murder, attempted murder and assault.

Judicial warrant

A judicial warrant was also issued against him after he had failed to appear before the court.  The above three had also kidnapped one Navin, kept him illegally at a hotel in Yelahanka, forced him to forge signature on cheques for transferring someone else's amount to their bank accounts.
