CRICKET: Having lost the tri-series final to Sri Lanka, India will be keen to put it across lowly Bangladesh when they begin the two-Test series on Sunday at Chittagong.

Down 0-1 in the four-Test series, South Africa will be praying for the rains to stay away as the hosts look square the series with a win in the final Test against England in Johannesburg. The match is scheduled for a Monday finish.

 Australia look for a fourth successive clean sweep of Pakistan as they build a substantial lead in the third and final Test at Hobart. The tie is scheduled for a Monday finish.

FOOTBALL: African Nations Cup will continue in Luanba, Angola.   The English Premier League action continues.

TENNIS: Back after a largely disappointing 2009, Rafael Nadal will be looking to successfully defend his title at the season’s first Grand Slam, the Australian Open which kicks off on Monday. Serena Williams too has a tough task at hand as she begins her title defence.

GOLF: PGA Tour’s Sony Open in Honolulu, Hawaii concludes on Sunday. European Tour’s Joburg Open in South Africa is also set for a Sunday finish.

ATHLETICS: Seventh Mumbai International Marathon is on Sunday.

CRICKET: Central Zone will take on East Zone in a Duleep Trophy quarterfinal match at Amritsar from Tuesday.

KABADDI: All-India BSNL tournament begins in Bangalore on Monday.
