When generally ministers and people in power prefer following the VIP culture, Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar shuns it and sets an example for others by standing in a queue without any VIP airs.

Parrikar was in Pune to attend a wedding, when he was clicked standing in a queue with the other guests.

Kiran Chitnis has uploaded some pics on Facebook in which Parrikar is seen standing in a queue with the other guests. These humble pics have gone viral on the social media platforms.

Kiran posted on Facebook, "My mom was at the wedding function of her childhood friend's son in Pune. Coincidentally she bumped into the hon. defence minister of India Shri Manohar Parrikar there.

What hasn't changed is Manohar bhai's humility in his journey from being my home state's chief minister to the defence minister of our Nation. Standing in queue without any chamchas, no sense of air or superiority when mingling with public are just few of his immense qualities."

The Defence Minister even kept his security guards outside the venue, Kiran added.

Manohar Parrikar did his metallurgical engineering from IIT Bombay.

Before becoming the Defence Minister of India, he was the Chief Minister of Goa from 2000 to 2005 and then from 2012 to 2014.

He is the first IIT graduate to become the Chief Minister of any state in India.
