Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said, chairpersons to the boards and corporations will be nominated in a week’s time.

Addressing media persons, at his residence, here, on Monday, after meeting the people outside, he said, he would also discuss about the Cabinet expansion with the Congress high command on Thursday, at New Delhi. He is scheduled to attend a meeting of the chief ministers from Congress ruled states in Delhi, on Tuesday. He said, he would take up the issues of the Cabinet expansion and also nominations to the boards and corporations with the high command after the meeting of the CMs.

‘BJP in distress’
Reacting to the comments against his government by former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa, he said, the BJP leaders have been spreading lies that their party’s government in the State was pro-people. “The BJP, which lost power in the State, is in distress. Ex-chief minister Yeddyurappa has forgotten that he had to go jail for his misdeeds,” he said.

When his attention was drawn towards the BJP’s comments that the State government has gone bankrupt and has borrowed heavily, he said, he did not find it appropriate to react to it. “We can borrow up to 25 per cent of our GDP. So, we have borrowed up to 24 per cent. I am confident of the government repaying all debts,” he added.

Stating that the monsoon is expected to be fair and would meet the annual average, he hoped for prosperity this year. “If agriculture is a success, half of our problems will be solved,” he added.
