After CET, it's an encore by toppers in ComedK

Students who had topped the Common Entrance Test (CET) have figured among the top scorers in the ComedK entrance test as well. Kommuru Alekhya Reddy, who has secured Rank 1 in the engineering stream in ComedK, was the second rank holder for engineering stream in CET.

Swagat S Yadawad, who has secured rank 2 in ComedK engineering, had topped the engineering entrance in CET. Likewise, Priya Narwal, who secured Rank 1 in medical/dental stream of CET, has topped the ComedK entrance test too in the medical stream. All three students are from Bengaluru.

Aditya H Shah, a candidate from Vadodara, Gujarat, has secured Rank 2 in the medical stream while Devraj Lath, a candidate from Hyderabad, Telangana, has bagged the third spot. In engineering, M Prashant, a student from the city, has secured Rank 3.

In the medical/dental stream, 14 rank holders out of the first 100 and 115 out of the first 1,000 rank holders are from Karnataka. As many as eight Karnataka candidates have secured 165 and above marks (out of 180) in the entrance test for medical and dental courses.

For engineering, 76 candidates in the first 100 ranks and 587 in the first 1,000 ranks are from the State.

 Out of 21,300 Karnataka candidates who are eligible for the seat selection process of ComedK, 9,600 (45 per cent) are from Bengaluru Urban district alone, according to an official statement released by ComedK.

Devraj Lath, the candidate who secured Rank 3 in the medical stream, aims to be a surgeon. Lath is a student of Sri Chaitanya Junior Kalashaala, Hyderabad.

 Both his parents are doctors. His father is a neurosurgeon and mother an anaesthetist. His paternal grandfather too was a surgeon, the student told Deccan Herald. Lath hopes to secure a seat at the Christian Medical College, Vellore.

“The satisfaction my parents get from their work is my source of inspiration. I have received a call for interview from CMC, Vellore. I have written the CMC, Vellore, CMC, Ludhiana, AIPMT, JIPMER and the entrance tests in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh,” he said. M Prashant, a student of Sri Chaitanya PU College, who has secured Rank 3 in the engineering stream is awaiting more results.

 “Right now, my options are open. I am waiting for my other results. I have secured Rank 10 in the Manipal entrance exam,” said the student who hopes to make it to one of the IITs.

Counselling
The first round of ComedK counselling is scheduled to begin on June 29.

 Details of the documents required for the counselling process would be uploaded on the website over the next 10 days, officials said. They have requested the candidates to regularly check the ComedK website for updates.
