Gambhir holds on to top spot, Tendulkar moves up

By virtue of his century against Bangladesh in the second innings of the first Test which India won by 113 runs, Gambhir has further consolidated his position in the batting chart with 881 rating points, a huge 38 points ahead of second placed Graeme Smith of South Africa.

Tendulkar, who registered his 44th Test century in the same match, occupies the 13 spot in the chart with 744 points under his kitty, while his teammate VVS Laxman has also gained two spots to be placed 15th. However, Rahul Dravid has slipped five places to the 19th spot.

Meanwhile, among bowlers Harbhajan Singh is the lone Indian in the top-10. The off-spinner is in the sixth spot with 705 points.

Fast bowler Ishant Sharma has also gained nine places in the latest rankings and now sits in 16th position, while leg-spinner Amit Mishra rose 10 places and has moved up to 45th position after a good show in the first Test against Bangladesh.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh captain Shakib Al-Hasan's seven wickets in the match -- including 5-62 in the first innings -- has helped the 22-year-old gain nine places to the 15th spot.
The bowling chart is headed by South African Dale Steyn, followed by Australia's Mitchell Johnson.
