Nikhil Gowda forays into films

JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy, who is producing his son Nikhil Gowda’s multi-crore budget film, on Wednesday said that sandalwood would not be used as a launchpad for his son’s political career.

Formally announcing Nikhil’s entry into films, he said that he had always been keen that his son enter films. He said that he wants to see his son succeed and become a sought-after actor. “I was always eager on this, but I had never pressured him. Though I am in politics, my heart lies in filmmaking,” he told reporters. He said owing to his busy political schedule in the last few years, he had stayed away from producing films.

Nikhil will be starring in the film ‘Jaguar’. Its shooting will begin from August 2. His Kumaraswamy and Anita are producing the film under the banner Channambika Films. The film’s story has been penned by noted Telugu director Rajamouli’s father Vijayendra Prasad.
