With Maggi noodles banned in several states, troubles for Nestle India are far from over as it’s baby food Cerelac was found infested with worms in Coimbatore district on Tuesday.

Sriram, who purchased the milk powder few days ago, lodged a complaint with State Food Safety and Drug Administration (SFSDA) officials that worms were present in the product. He added  that the expiry date on the pack was printed as February 2016. “I did not get any proper response from the company officials when I tried to register a complaint with them. Therefore, I have decided to give the packets to SFSDA for testing,” Sriram said.

This is the second such complaint reported from Coimbatore with Nestle India’s baby food. Last week, larvae was noticed by a cab driver Premananth who had purchased the milk product from the company for his children. FSDA officials said that they have sent the samples, which was given by the complainant, to the lab.
