Judy Alban takes comfortable lead over her rivals; Akaash continues to sparkle

Former India international Judy Alban took a comfortable lead of 372 pins over second placed Radhika at the end of Round 1 in the women's category of the Karnataka State Tenpin Bowling Championship at PVR Blu O in Orion Mall on Thursday.

Judy who started on modest note with 165 and 183 in the first two games, went on to score 204, 225 and 196 in the third, fourth and fifth games. In the last play she could manage only 170, and finished with a total pinfall of 2298 in 12 games and at an average of 191.50.

In the men's category, Akaash Ashok Kumar continued his good run, scoring 1265 in six games and finishing round two with total pinfall of 5016 in 24 games at an average of 209. Varun N Ganapathy scored 1181 and maintained his overnight position of fourth.
