<p>The high-profile by-elections to the R K Nagar Assembly constituency in Tamil Nadu, from where AIADMK supremo and Chief Minister J Jayalalitha is contesting, will take place on Saturday.<br /><br /></p>.<p>With more than 2.4 lakh voters expected to exercise their franchise, the Election Commission has introduced a new system called “Easy”.<br /><br />Through the Electors Assistance System (Easy), voters can access details of the electoral roll, their polling station and also the polling booth’s key map enabling them to reach the spot. <br /><br />For the first time, the commission has also implemented E-Netra system (Election Novel Electronic Tracking and Rapid Action System) for model code of conduct observance, expenditure monitoring and addressing of issues and complaints through a single window.<br /><br />In addition, more than 100 high resolution Internet Protocol (IP) cameras have been installed at vital points in the constituency to monitor the polling booths.<br /><br />Polling will be held in 230 booths and additional security forces were posted in sensitive booths. The counting of votes will take place on June 30.<br /><br />The seat fell vacant after AIADMK’s sitting member P Vetrivel resigned to facilitate Jayalalitha’s re-election to the Assembly. Jayalalitha had assumed office as chief minister for the fifth time on May 23 after she was acquitted by the Karnataka High Court in a disproportionate assets case and she has to get elected to the Assembly within six months.</p>
