A Government of India initiative, RRE was launched to create awareness about HIV/AIDS. "The stations were chosen depending on the vulnerability of the districts, feasibility of the stations as the train would halt for at least a day and cover places that were not included in Phase I, last year," said Daman Ahuja, national consultant (RRE), National AIDS Control Organisation, here on Thursday.

Unlike phase I that halted at 41 stations in 55 districts, RRE intends to cover 141 districts by stopping at 152 stations in the country.

Terming it as the first campaign of its kind in the world, he said that Phase II with a budget of Rs 20 crore was rolled on December 1, 2009.
