A Delhi BJP delegation today met President Pranab Mukherjee and requested him to rein in the Arvind Kejriwal-led dispensation which it said has created a "constitutional crisis".

The BJP also accused AAP government of deliberately disregarding the constitutional provisions ever since it came to power.

"AAP has tried to write their own set of rules and laws in every matter be it administrative postings, political appointments, taking administrative decisions needing the Lt Governor's approval and created controversies," BJP Delhi President Satish Upadhyay said, after meeting the President.

The delegation included Delhi BJP Incharge Shyam Jaju, Union Minister Harsh Vardhan, Leader of the Opposition in Delhi Assembly Vijender Gupta, Members of Parliament Ramesh Bidhuri, Pravesh Verma, Udit Raj and Meenakshi Lekhi.

BJP also alleged that words used by Chief Minister or his colleagues while communicating about the Prime Minister too have been undignified.

In the memorandum, the BJP alleged that a number of unconstitutional bills and resolutions were passed by Delhi Government which include Delhi Members of Legislative Assembly (Removal of Disqualification) (Amendment) Bill 2015.

In Delhi Netaji Subash University of Technology Bill 2015 the constitutional term 'Government' has been wrongly explained.

"This month government passed a resolution and constituted a Commission of Inquiry. The Additional Solicitor General advised that the Delhi Assembly has no business to pass such a resolution but still they went ahead," BJP leader said.

The BJP delegation also raised the issues of conflict with Lt Governor on matters which required his prior approval.

"Delhi Government has been disregarding this authority be it the case of DWC, appointment of the Directors in the Board of Power Supply Companies on behalf of Delhi Government or hike in the circle rates of agricultural land.

"Similarly, in the case of appointments, transfer and postings of state officials necessary approval of the Lt Governor was not taken by the government. Controversies were created and it was tried to show that either the Lt Governor or the Central Government has exerted pressure on Delhi Government," BJP said.

BJP further alleged that after coming to power AAP government and its MLAs created records of arbitrariness which were never witnessed before.

The delegation also referred the cases of arrest of former law minister Jitendra Singh Tomer and mentioned cases against other AAP MLAs like Somnath Bharti, Promila Tokas and Commondo Surendra.
