JD(S) leader H D Revanna on Wednesday charged that the State government is planning to hike Nandini milk prices in order to make good the loss being incurred by the Karnataka Milk Federation (KMF).

Speaking to reporters Revanna said, “The KMF has been incurring huge losses due to the excess production of milk in the State. The KMF is getting the milk converted into powder from outside the State in the absence of adequate number of processing units. This is causing huge financial burden on the federation. The government also wants to increase the price of the fodder and the feed,” he added.

He demanded that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah should take an appropriate decision and rescue the thousands of dairy farmers, who are depending on the KMF for their livelihood, he added.
