SIT investigators extract crucial info from Bhaskar

The Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing corruption within the Lokayukta office, has reportedly gathered vital information from V Bhaskar, a key accused in their in custody.

Sources said Bhaskar had  revealed the names of several senior officials whom he was asked to contact as part of the extortion racket. The names and incidents of extortion attempts revealed by Bhaskar alias ‘420’ Bhaskar has come in handy for the SIT officials.

Bhaskar was involved in several cases of extortion and was using many star hotels in the City to meet the officials. In some cases, the officials were also called to the official residence of the Lokayukta, Justice Y Bhaskar Rao on Crescent Road.

The investigation team  has found that in many cases, it was Bhaskar who introduced himself as Krishna Rao and asked the officials to visit the Lokayukta’s residence.

Sources said that the Special Investigation Team officials will likely summon several public servants, including some IAS officers, based Bhaskar’s statement.Meanwhile, Bhaskar was taken to the Lokayukta office for a mahazar on Thursday.

The SIT officials opened the chamber of suspended Joint Commissioner (PRO) Syed Riyaz and the adjacent conference room, where several officials were threatened to part with money.
