Finish residential school work at the earliest: Jain

District incharge Minister K Abhaychandra Jain directed contractors to complete the work on Morarji Desai residential school, coming up at Jodi Lingadahalli for students from backward classes, at the earliest. He clarified that there was no dearth of money for the project.

Speaking after performing ground-breaking ceremony for the Rs 7.23-crore building project, the minister said the objective of the residential schools was to bring everyone to the mainstream society.

The school was sanctioned in 2007, but work could not start because of land problem. The work will start now and the contractors will finish the work by next year. Providing education to children, who are the future of the country, is the responsibility of all, he said.

MLA C T Ravi opined that providing value education was the need of the hour. One cannot build a strong country without proper education policy, he said. Meanwhile, he warned the contractors against giving bribe.

ZP president Kavitha Belli Prakash, MLC A V Gayathri Shanthegowda, ZP vice president Vishala Tippesh, ZP Standing Committee president Kalmaradappa were present among others.
