INPEC edge past ASC Polo Club

The Indian Navy Polo and Equestrian Club edged past ASC Polo Club 3-2.5 in the second fixture of the four-goal ARPA tournament on day two of the Bangalore Polo Season at the Agram ground here on Friday.

Indian Navy came into the game with a healthy handicap of four, while ASC were one short with a handicap of three giving them a half goal advantage. The first chukker was an evenly fought contest with Indian Navy gaining a slender half goal lead thanks to Cdr Akhil Sirohi.

ASC found their feet in the second chukker as they scored two goals, courtesy Col NS Khera and Maj Prithvi but Sirohi cut their advantage by scoring his second goal of the game, leaving the scores at 2.5-2 in favour of the Service Corps team. Cap Aman’s goal in the third chukker shifted the tide again in favour of the Navy by the smallest of margins but ASC failed to find a goal thereafter.

The semifinals of the tournament will take place on Saturday with ASC taking on RVC team while Indian Navy will face hosts, ARPA.
