The second edition of the Shriram Properties Bengaluru Marathon will be held on October 18 here.
The event will have three categories, including the full marathon (42.195 KM), the half-marathon (21.095 KM) and the 5km Hope Run.
Registrations for the marathon have already crossed the 10 thousand mark and close to 20 thousand runners are expected to participate, said the organisers.
The organisers said that spin legend Anil Kumble was also expected to run the 5km race. The Bengaluru Marathon race director Nagaraj Adiga said: “I am not surprised to see over 10 thousand registrations for the second edition of Bengaluru Marathon. Every year we hope to make this a bigger and better event.”
“It is my privilage to be a part of India’s second biggest marathon happening in our city,” said Abhaychandra Jain, the Minister of State for Youth Empowerment and Sports.
The total prize money for the event is Rs 55 lakh.
