<p>As many as 220 students from Azim Premji University received their degrees (in person and absentia) here on Saturday at the third convocation of the University. <br /><br /></p>.<p>The 220 students belong to the masters program in two streams- Education and Development. <br /><br />Speaking after receiving her degree, Neha Pant, said: “The two years have been a great experience where I learnt as well as unlearnt alot of things.” Neha took Education as her specialization and is presently working at Headstart Educational Academy, Kommasandra. <br /><br />A spokesperson from the University said that a number of former students had been placed in various roles such as research and pedagogy, teaching, throughout the country. <br /><br />Azim Premji, chairman, Wipro Limited who spoke on the occasion lauded the students for choosing careers in the field of teaching and education.<br /><br /> “If I were to address students from other professional disciplines I would say, we live not for bread alone but for a larger purpose and meaning. In your case I do not have to say this for you have chosen your education and your profession on the basis of this deep desire to contribute to society. There cannot be a nobler goal. It is not only what we get from society that gives us satisfaction but also what we try to do for it.” <br /><br />He asked students to be committed to their work despite any hardships. <br /><br />Rishad Premji, Chief Strategy Officer, Wipro Limited, Anurag Behar, Vice Chancellor, Azim Premji University, were present.</p>
