The Janadhikara Sangharsha Parishath has submitted additional documents on its earlier complaint with the Special Investigation Team (SIT), probing the Lokayukta corruption scam, with regard to cases against senior ministers and bureaucrats closed under mysterious circumstances. The forum said that a list of complaints along with case numbers against chief minister, chief secretary and other senior politicians and bureaucrats has been submitted to the SIT.

Adarsh Iyer of JSP said, “We have submitted a compilation of several complaints that were received by the office of the Lokayukta during the last one-and-a-half years. We have every reason to suspect that the complaints filed against influential politicians and bureaucrats were deliberately not attended to by Lokayukta Justice Y Bhaskar Rao. In our complaint, we have requested the SIT to check if these politicians and bureaucrats have contacted Ashwin, son of Lokayukta Justice Rao.”'

The forum has submitted 21 annexure along with case numbers and details of the dates of the proceedings. Some cases were closed within 5-15 days of filing the complaint.

“In some cases, the complainants were not intimated about the closure of the cases, while in some the complainants are not willing to share details about the case. The Lokayukta office is not providing the details of the proceedings on certain complaints.

Hence, we have requested the SIT to hold a preliminary enquiry into such cases disposed of by Lokayukta. We will approach the court if the SIT does not take up our complaint seriously,'' he said.
