“The questions were not tricky but just straight and difficult. The questions could not be answered by just thinking and guessing but only through extensive preparedness,” said Dr Rahul Singh from Maharashtra. He has also written other entrance tests to ensure that he gets a MD seat.

Dr Kavitha Bekal Kripalani from Mumbai said that the All India Post Graduate Test (AIPGT) was easier compared to COMEDK test. “The questions were different requiring more analysis. Questions from previous years were not repeated compared to the national entrance test which had many questions from previous years making it relatively easy.”

Even she added that she was banking on other entrances like Maharashtra Common Entrance Test and AIPGT to get a MD seat.

A total of 15,577 candidates appeared for COMEDK PGET with 90.2 per cent attendance in medical PGET and 94.7 per cent in dental PGET. The total number of candidates who appeared for medical PGET was 12,009, of which 8,146 were from other states and 3,863 were from Karnataka. Of the total of 5,115 candidates who appeared for dental PGET, 1,227 were from outside the State and 3,888 were from Karnataka.

The examination was conducted in the 24 test centres in Bangalore. Two cases of malpractice were reported and the candidates were expelled from the test centre at St Joseph’s Pre-University College and Shri Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain College. The answer keys of COMEDK PGET will be hosted at www.comedk.org.
