Building crashes

A three-storey residential building came crashing down in Parappana Agrahara police limits late on Thursday night.

Police said there was none inside the house when the incident occurred. The building, located at Govindashettypalya, had developed cracks due to heavy rainfall.

A family, which was residing in the building, vacated on Wednesday. A 35-year-old man was spotted inside the building around 9 pm. “A few residents rushed inside the building and brought him out. Minutes later, the first floor of the building sank, while another floor came crashing down, while the third floor leaned partially,” said a police inspector.
Fire and Emergency personnel rushed to the spot and cleared the debris.
