Avantha group company Crompton Greaves (CG) has bagged an order worth $62 million (around Rs 410 crore) from PT PLN Indonesia for manufacture and supply of power transformers.

The scope of work includes design, manufacture, supply, construction and installation of the said power transformers in the range of 30MVA to 268MVA. The transformers will be installed in Java, Sumatra, Kalimantan and Makassar islands of Indonesia, and the project is aimed at enhancing the performance of PT PLN’s transmission grid, CG said.

By way of these orders, CG has consistently built its reputation as a top quality provider of turnkey products and solutions in the Indonesian market, with approximately $93 million worth of orders already booked in the first half of the current year, CG added.

“The CG edge lies in providing indigenously built products and turnkey services that reflect global standards, while suiting local conditions,”CG CEO and MD Laurent Demortier said.
