For Sandalwood actor, Chetan Chandra who has been shuttling between sets, this is an exciting time as his movie ‘Jaathre’ will be releasing soon. Working on the project since a year, he says that this film is going to be a turning point in his career.

The actor says that ‘Jaathre’ is “a good mix of everything that one expects in a movie”, with action, beautiful songs and good choreography. “This is the journey of a man in a City, where he meets new people. The movie showcases extremes and will be a good entertainer,” he says. He also explains that the word ‘jaathre’ itself means ‘mela’, which is a gathering of people. “In small towns, once a year, a ‘mela’ is held and people from different villages gather together. But in Bengaluru, every day is a ‘mela’. That is the nature of the City.”

“Aishwarya Nag is the heroine of the film. The cast also includes Rakshit Shetty, Shravanth Rao, Veena Ponnappa. There are many artistes, who have come together to make this project unique.”

The character has also opened up to Chetan a different side of the City. “We don’t talk to everyone here. And, it takes time for anyone to learn about Bengaluru. But in this movie, we have shown this journey in just a day.”

“On a regular basis, most of us don’t walk into slums or isolated buildings, but I got to experience new things here.” Chetan says that the film, which has been shot at the Mangalore Port, Udupi, Goa, and Bengaluru, was an insightful project.

He vouches that the project will be a “complete entertainer”. “This will be the best movie of my career. Satisfying everyone is easy, but satisfying yourself is difficult.

And this movie has done just that. I had my own thoughts about the movie after Ravi Teja, the director, told me about how it will come out. But the movie has come out better than my expectations,” says Chetan.

Chetan says that the experience of working with the director, was life-changing. “He is a good artiste and has his own film institute. To be able to take our friendship forward from our past project, ‘Rajadhani’, is a blessing. Being a senior artiste, I have learnt a lot from him and I can’t explain how I feel. I’m at a loss of words,” he says. He adds that after having worked with various directors, the experience of acting without a script broadened his canvas.

Excited about the release, he says that he is “sure that the project will do well”. “The movie has a light subject in an impressive format. Everyone who has moved to Bengaluru will be able to relate to it.”
