Four motorcyclists were killed and two other men were injured in two separate road accidents in the capital on Thursday.

The first incident was reported from Lajpat Nagar, where two men died and one was seriously injured when their motorcycle rammed into a road divider.

The deceased have been identified as Abhishek, 18, and Aamir, 25, who hailed from West Bengal. The injured, 27-year-old Mukesh, is from Uttarakhand. They lived in rented houses at Zamrudpur.

A call was made to the police control room at 4 am. “It was about a road accident near the BRT corridor. The injured were rushed to AIIMS, where Abhishek and Aamir were declared brought dead,” said a police officer.

Mukesh’s condition remains serious.
Police said Abhishek was speeding. “He lost balance and rammed into a road divider at Lajpat Nagar,” the officer added.

The investigating officers found only one helmet at the spot. Abhishek was a student, while Aamir worked as driver.

In a similar accident, two youths died when their motorcycle was rammed by an unknown vehicle at Delhi Cantonment. Another man was injured.

The identity of the errant driver remains unknown.
Manish, 21, a resident of Moti Bagh and Gaurav Gupta, 20, of Kirari, were found injured along with 23-year-old Prashant near Rao Tula Ram Marg. “They were taken to AIIMS with severe head injuries, which proved fatal,” a police officer said. The medical examination revealed that they were under the influence of alcohol.

Separate cases of rash driving and causing death by negligence have been filed.
