The years spent in the fashion industry has taught Bengaluru-based designer Kamal Raj Manickath the fact that women like to experiment with traditional clothes. He plays around with motifs and brocades to make every garment look unique and classy. His line of ‘salwars’, ‘saris’ and ‘lehengas’  this season are truly impressive.

Seasonal hues and flavours

Kamal’s latest collection is an attractive blend of cuts, colours and designs. Every garment gets a new identity in his hands.

He doesn’t shy away from exploring and experimenting with colours.
His team of designers always strive for novelty and perfection. Under Kamal’s personal supervision, the old and the traditional fabrics, don a modern avatar.

The sari and ‘lehengas’, in particular, teem with endless possibilities in their design and thus, gets seasonal hues and flavours.

The range includes sari that sells the most during weddings and red is the preferred colour of most people. Embroidered ‘lehengas’ and prints are part of Kamal’s creations.
The bridal collection has saris woven in pure ‘zari’ with broad borders.
Kamal is also known for his ability to transform the simplest of garments into something special.

“I believe that you can make the simplest of garments look attractive. It is all about
striking the right colour balance,” he adds.  “Women have a definite taste when it comes to what they want to wear and prefer to wear garments that suit the occasion,” says Kamal.

“There’s a lot of thought and imagination that goes into the way women want to present themselves,” he adds. Kamal is also particular about accessories  matching the garment. “They complete and complement the look,” he says.

According to him, a chunky earring goes best with a heavily-brocaded sari or a ‘lehenga’. “You must accessorise in an intelligent and creative way,”
he adds.
