'Seers' main duty is to propagate qualities of God'

Paryaya Kaniyoor Mutt seer Vidyavallabha Theertha Swami said that the foremost duty of seers is to propagate the noble qualities of the God.

He was speaking during the inaugural function of the five-day Sri Vidyasamudratheertha Shastra Samvardhini Sabha and national seminar on Vedanta, organised by Kaniyur mutt and SMSP Sanskrit Research Centre at Rajangana in Udupi recently.

He further said that the seers should involve thmeselves in social works, encourage art and other deeds of righteousness, along with the propagation of knowledge, which helps to experience the divine.

Inaugurating the programme, Krishnapur Mutt seer Vidyasagar Swami said that the noble ideas should be discussed by the scholars. The noble qualities should be focused rather than self esteem, while discussing related issues. Self esteem will cause a hindrance to Shastra and people will not be aware of the Shastra.
