'Steps to check IS recruitment from State'

Home Minister G Parameshwara on Tuesday said the State government will take appropriate steps to prevent ISIS from recruiting youth in Karnataka in the wake of reports of three youth from State having died fighting for ISIS in Syria.

Speaking to reporters, he said the government has received a report from the Intelligence Bureau (IB) on ISIS recruiting youth from the State.

Serious issue
“I have not gone through the report. It is a serious issue and I promise you that all necessary steps will be taken to prevent it (recruitment),” he added.

Asked about reports of three youth from the State having lost their lives in Syria, he said he was not aware of it.
