HC reserves orders on DKS land row

 The High Court of Karnataka on Wednesday reserved orders with regard to a petition on denotification of 4.2 acres of land in Benniganahalli favouring Energy Minister D K Shivakumar.

The matter is about a complaint filed by Kabbale Gowda and T J Abraham in the Lokayukta court, against denotification of 4.2 acres of land at Benniganahalli in Bengaluru East taluk. The land was purchased by Shivakumar and got converted for residential purpose.

Shivakumar later entered into a joint agreement with Puravankara Builders. The land was denotified by the then chief minister B S Yeddyurappa.

The Lokayukta police had registered a case against the Shivakumar and six others under the Prevention of Corruption Act, Karnataka Restriction of Transfer of Land Act, 1991 and the Indian Penal Code.
