SWC chief visits agitating couple

State Women’s Commission Chairperson Manjula Manasa visited the couple Manjushree and Purushotam, who are staging a protest in front of their house against Pushpavalli, Purushotam’s mother, for not allowing them to enter the house, on Monday. Manjula also warned police personnel of stringent action, if they neglect the case.

There was a misunderstanding between Manjushree and her husband Purushotam. Manjushree approached a court and it directed the couple to lead a life together. But Purushotam’s mother Pushpavalli locked the house before leaving to KR Nagar in November, soon after the court issued the order. Manjushree had also complained to Manjula Manasa in this regard.

Manjushree said that she had approached Mandi Police several times, seeking their help to enter the house, but the police sought a court order to break open the door of the house and did not help them.

Manasa directed the police personnel to take necessary action. If the department fails to act, the official concerned will face the heat, she warned.
