Bike crashes into earthmover, rider killed

A 25-year-old civil contractor was killed on the spot after his motorbike collided head-on with an earthmover in Koramangala on Thursday night.

The deceased has been identified as Anith M, a resident of Adugodi, said the Adugodi traffic police.

According to the police, the incident occurred around 12.30 am near Jyothi Nivas College when Anith was returning home after visiting a relative.

The earthmover operator, who was moving on a one-way road, lost control over the vehicle after noticing the victim entering the road.

The earthmover collided with the two-wheeler, which tossed Anith up in air.

He suffered serious injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared brought dead, said the police.

The earthmover operator abandoned the vehicle and fled the spot.

The earthmover has been seized. The body has been sent for post-mortem.

Bus crushes motorcyclist

A motorcyclist was killed on the spot after coming under the wheels of a bus that was ferrying Metro workers to the construction site at the Majestic on Friday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Siddharth, 22, a resident of Gandhinagar. He was running a textile store at Chickpet.

He was riding to his shop when the accident occurred around 7 am near Anand Rao Circle.

According to the Upparpet traffic police, Siddharth fell down from his bike and came under the wheels of the bus that was coming from Yelahanka and going towards Majestic.

He died of massive head injuries. The police have detained the driver and seized the bus.
