JOIN USA homemaker, who pushed her two daughters to death at Nugu Reservoir, also committed suicide by jumping to the dam near here, on Thursday.
The deceased are Geetha (30), wife of Sannaswamy Gowda of Gundathuru village, HD Kote taluk, and her daughters Sinchana (9) and Archana (6).
Archana’s body was found floating while the bodies of Geetha and Sinchana were retrieved by organic farmer Vivek Kariappa, who resides in Sargur.
Post-mortem was conducted at HD Kote government hospital and the bodies were handed over to the relatives. However, the reason for the suicide is yet to be ascertained. Police visited the spot in the morning.
According to relatives, Geetha, daughter of Channegowda of Badagalapura village, HD Kote taluk, was married to Sannaswamy, 12 years ago. Sannaswamy Gowda, a farmer, used to work as a car or jeep driver, when there was no agricultural activities.
It is learnt that Geetha had left home on Thursday afternoon, informing that she is visiting her maternal house. She was found walking on the road near the reservoir, when the police stopped her. She is said to have reached the dam through an alternative route and has taken the extreme step.
Fishermen, who noticed the body of a girl floating at midnight, informed the Police and Forest department personnel.
Geetha’s husband Sannaswamy was absconding, though his relatives were present. A case has been registered.
