When Biki Singh, owner of ‘Impo’, decided to step into the world of fashion and fashion designing, he was also prepared to take competition in the fashion industry head on. He left no stone unturned to make sure that his dream to design exclusively for the young came true.

“I believe that my clothes must be designed to appear youthful and look refreshing. Apart from tops, shirts and denims, we also stock a variety of dresses, tunics and sweaters. This has been done to ensure that we don’t fall short when it comes to variety. There’s also a section for men,” explains Biki.

Biki’s designs focus on young people because he thinks that today they are more conscious about looking good than ever before. The boutique maybe small but it certainly gives any shopper the freedom to choose from different prints, cuts and designs.

Biki has also priced his garments competitively. Being fashionable and providing good fits are what ‘Impo’s signature style is all about. “We try to highlight one or a mix of both aspects in the garment at a time; be it the cut, print, work, colour or fabric,” he says. ‘Impo’ has done well to cater to women from all walks of life — homemakers, working women, college students — among others.

Biki has been experimenting with colour and designs for all age groups. “There are no restrictions when it comes to the age of the shopper. In addition, to a lot of young people, I find that a few older people have also started shopping here,” he adds.

There are also accessories such as bags and clutches to choose from. The wide range of ballerina shoes at the store is not to be missed. About accessorising, he says, “The clothes are colourful, so accessorising is a matter of individual taste and choice.”
