Sandalwood’s newest face never really set out to be an actress. After setting the ramp ablaze, Neha couldn’t resist the offer to play the lead in ‘Mungaru Male 2’.

Not only is the subject line new and the narration different, the role too is unique, feels Neha. “It is a love story but it doesn’t involve running around trees. The role a strong and meaningful and the script is fresh,” Neha says. She’s also thrilled that her debut project is opposite ‘Golden Star’ Ganesh.

The young lady feels that any aspiring actress must face the camera confidently and this is where her stint in modelling did her a lot of good in terms of boosting her self-confidence. Currently based in Bengaluru, she is also the winner of ‘Miss Mangalore 2014’ beauty pageant.

Neha doesn’t have any prior experience in acting and hasn’t signed up for any acting classes but she says that she’s open and willing to learn the art of acting from scratch. “I believe in keeping an open mind and since I am new to the field, I want to learn not only from my experience but also borrow some good elements from the senior actors around me. This will enrich my experience,” she says.

She states that the sequel to ‘Mungaru Male’ is quite different. She concedes that she does feel the pressure to perform well. “Mungaru Male’ did extremely well and people continue to talk about it even after so many years. So, I do feel the pressure to do well but I am confident about my abilities and hope to work towards meeting the expectations,” she says. She feels one of her biggest strengths is to be able to say ‘no’ to something that she’s not comfortable doing. “I don’t believe in doing something or in taking up a role just to gain some commercial success. I want people to remember me for my roles and I am keen on working on realistic films,” adds Neha.

About her costar Ganesh, Neha says that she considers herself fortunate to have got a chance to act with him. “One of the first things that struck me about Ganesh is his humility and willingness to help. There were times when I would get stuck with my dialogues and Ganesh would help me understand and learn them better. This cooperation was indeed encouraging,” shares Neha.

The movie has been shot in Sakleshpur, Rajasthan and Hyderabad. “We completed almost 75 per cent of the film and have a couple of song shoots to be done,” she informs.
