Folk festival

The first ‘All Women World Folk Arts Festival’ is being organised by International Arts and Cultural Foundation on January 22, 6 pm at Ravindra Kalakshetra, JC Road and January 23 and 24 at Kalagrama, Mallattahalli, Nagarabhavi.

Folk dances from different parts of India will be performed at Ravindra Kalakshetra.
Folk dancers and musicians from Gulf countries, Egypt and Libya, Turkey will offer Bengalureans a glimpse of their culture.

The main focus of the festival is to celebrate culture, initiate academic and scholarly discussions on folk music and dance, and recognise women’s participation.

This unique festival would also enable cultural exchanges between participating teams in future . Monisha Arts Group, Nadam Dance Ensemble, Nrithyantar Dance Ensemble, Bhoomi music group, Galjal folk music group and Sanaz dance group will be performing on the occasion.

 The event is supported by ministry of culture, Government of India; Department of Kannada and Culture and South Zone Cultural Centre.
