John Varghese, a professor at Hyderabad’s English and Foreign Language University (EFLU), will succeed Revd Valson Thampu as principal of St Stephen’s College.
Prof Varghese will take over from Thampu on March 1 as the latter’s tenure as principal ends on February 29.
Varghese was chosen “unanimously” by the College’s Supreme Council, the appointing authority for the post, after interviewing candidates on Wednesday.
“On behalf of the Supreme Council of St. Stephen’s, I am delighted to announce that Prof John Varghese of The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad has been selected for appointment as the 13th Principal to take charge w e f 1 March 2016,” Thampu said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.
