<p>John Varghese, a professor at Hyderabad’s English and Foreign Language University (EFLU), will succeed Revd Valson Thampu as principal of St Stephen’s College. <br /><br /></p>.<p>Prof Varghese will take over from Thampu on March 1 as the latter’s tenure as principal ends on February 29.<br /><br />Varghese was chosen “unanimously” by the College’s Supreme Council, the appointing authority for the post, after interviewing candidates on Wednesday. <br /><br />“On behalf of the Supreme Council of St. Stephen’s, I am delighted to announce that Prof John Varghese of The English and Foreign Languages University, Hyderabad has been selected for appointment as the 13th Principal to take charge w e f 1 March 2016,” Thampu said in a Facebook post on Wednesday.</p>
