A heavily drunk 26-year-old woman and her male friend created ruckus after their Mercedes Benz rammed into a motorcycle in central Delhi’s Connaught Place in the early hours of Wednesday.

Noida-residents Neha Jamaal and 40-year-old Prashant Aggrawal were detained on the spot and arrested on Wednesday morning. They were produced before Patiala House Courts Complex and sent to a day in judicial custody.

The incident occurred near gate number 6 of Rajiv Chowk Metro station. Neha and Prashant also misbehaved with the police and later with doctors at Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. “Their medical examination has confirmed the presence of alcohol beyond permissible limits,” said Deputy Commissioner of Police (New Delhi) Jatin Narwal. Separate cases have been filed with Connaught Place and North Avenue police stations.
