JOIN US A 29-year-old history-sheeter was found dead with stab wounds near Chandra Bhavan hotel in Chandra Layout on Wednesday morning.
The victim, Prakash alias Chikka Olonga, was a resident of Kanakanagar slum in Vijayanagar. A few passersby noticed a body early Wednesday morning and informed the police who visited the spot and identified the body. They alerted Prakash’s family who claimed he had gone out on Tuesday evening and not returned home.
The police suspected the role of his friends in the murder.
A senior police officer said Prakash was a notorious history-sheeter with the Vijayanagar police and had over 20 cases registered against him in various police stations.
“He was in jail and had recently come out on bail. The locals had approached the police recently claiming that he was harassing people for money and threatening them. It could be a revenge killing. Two special teams have been formed and efforts are being made to nab the suspects,” said the officer.
