A history-sheeter in the city, was arrested recently under Goonda Act and has been shifted to Central Prisons in Ballari.

Abhishek alias Abhi alias ‘Sutta’, aged 24 and a resident of KR Mohalla, is an accused in several cases under various police stations in Mysuru.

According to Police Commissioner B Dayananda, Abhishek, along with his accomplices was facing cases for rioting, murder bid, life threat and assault on people in public places.

A highest of four cases had been registered against him at KR station, followed by one each at Lakshmipuram and Devaraja stations.

Besides, KR police had advised him to reform and had booked an additional three cases. However, he had continued with his anti-social activities, forcing the police to arrest him under Goonda Act, 1985, on March 2. The police commissioner has warned of initiating similar action against other such anti-social elements, if they continue to disturb peace in the city.

According to sources, Abhishek, a nephew of another history-sheeter Paramesh alias ‘Pammi’ who is now a travel operator, is known for rioting. Recently, on March 1, he along with his accomplices, had barged into a house at Madhuvana Layout opposite JSS Hospital on MG Road and had created a ruckus over a trivial issue. Two years ago, he was involved in a similar case near Hotel Nalpak, off New Sayyaji Rao Road. So, KR police had opened a rowdy-sheet against him.

He was also convicted in an attempt to murder case earlier.
Abhishek is popularly known as ‘Sutta’ for being a victim of acid attack. He had suffered burns on his body that earned him the notoriety as ‘Sutta’ (meaning burnt in English).
