BJP, RSS want to impose Prez rule across India: Kejriwal

Last Updated 27 March 2016, 13:27 IST

After Uttarakhand was brought under central rule, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today accused the Modi government of being "anti-democratic" and alleged that it wanted to impose President's rule across the country.

"Prez rule imposed one day before trust vote? BJP is anti -democracy. BJP/RSS want dictatorship, want to rule India thro Prez Rule," Kejriwal tweeted.

Aam Aadmi Party leader Ashutosh also took to Twitter to criticise the Centre's decision, saying it was "murder of democracy".

"Whatever has happened in Uttarakhand, is murder of democracy. A govt has majority or not should be proved on the floor of the house," he tweeted.

He also said, "Modi govt does not want opposition govts at all. After Arunachal Pradesh, Dismissal of Uttarakhand govt is dangerous trend.

"Has BJP/Jaitley forgotten Sher Singh in Delhi who was caught on camera to buy AAP MLA to form BJP govt before assembly election in Delhi?" Ashutosh asked.

President's rule was imposed in Uttarakhand today by the Centre on grounds of "breakdown of governance" in a controversial decision which came in the wake of a political crisis triggered by a rebellion in the ruling Congress.

Earlier in January, Kejriwal had expressed "shock" at Cabinet's recommendation for imposition of President's rule in Arunachal Pradesh, terming it as "murder" of the country's Constitution.

"Union Cab recommending Prez rule in Arunachal shocking. Murder of Consti on Rep D eve. BJP lost elections. Now acquiring power thro back door," Kejirwal had tweeted.
