<p>The Pattali Makkal Katchi (PMK) on Tuesday petitioned the Election Commission of India to initiate an enquiry against the DMK and the PWF in Tamil Nadu.<br /><br /></p>.<p>The enquiry is against DMK president M Karunanidhi, treasurer M K Stalin, DMDK founder Vijayakanth, and People’s Welfare Front (PWF) convener Vaiko, saying that they had committed offences under Section 123 of the Representation of the People Act, 1951. <br /><br />In a letter to the Chief Electoral Officer, PMK president G K Mani said there were reports in a section of the media that “some bargaining had taken place between the DMK and DMDK” in the run up to the Assembly election. <br /><br />The PMK said the DMK had slapped a legal notice on Vaiko for levelling certain charges insinuating that the party had tried to lure the DMDK into an alliance through dubious means.</p>
